Educational Planning Advisor, Part-time Faculty
BA, Muhlenberg College, Psychology M.Ed, Counseling Psychology, Lehigh University
I received a BA in Psychology from Muhlenberg College and an M.Ed in Counseling Psychology from Lehigh University. I started my career at Bucks County Community College in 1989 as the Assistant Director/Counselor of the Act 101- GOALS program at Bucks, a position I held for 19 1/2 years. During that time, I started teaching a section of Introduction to Psychology, and discovered that I love teaching as much as direct service. After becoming Acting Director of the Act 101-GOALS program (and now the additional KEYS Program) following the retirement of the former Director, I became the Director of Counseling and Success Grants. I held that position until 2010, when I was offered the opportunity to enter a Special Term Contract as a full-time faculty member and Area Coordinator for the Psychology Area. During that contracted period, I expanded my teaching repertoire to include instruction of PSYC100, PSYC181, and PSYC280. In 2013, I took on a brand -new role at Bucks as a full-time Educational Planning Advisor. In that position, I meet with all new students to the College, advise new students for first-semester course work, advise returning student advisees who are undecided in their educational goals, and work with all students in regard to transfer planning. I continue to teach one or two classes every semester, and hope to continue to do so as long as my brain stays intact!
