Academic Success Scholarship $500.00

Open to BCCC students who have successfully completed COLL115

Applicants must meet the following requirements at the time of application: Successfully completed COLL115. Intend to re-enroll at BCCC the following semester after the scholarship is awarded. Possess a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.0.

Bill Meiers Memorial Scholarship Endowment minimum $500

Open to current BCCC students majoring in English

Applicants must meet the following requirements at the time of application: Enrolled in a minimum of six (6) credits and majoring in English in BCCC’s Department of Language & Literature. Intend to re-enroll at BCCC in a minimum of six (6) credits in the fall after the award is made in the spring. Must be in good academic standing, as verified by the department. Must submit a letter of recommendation from either a Bucks professor or work supervisor.

This scholarship was established through the many donations made in memory of Professor Bill Meiers by his family, friends, and colleagues.

Also:

  • A letter of recommendation on letterhead is required in order to apply for this scholarship

Dylong-Beader Journalism Scholarship $500.00 - $1,500.00

Open to BCCC students majoring in Journalism

Applicants must meet the following requirements at the time of application: Enrolled in a minimum of six (6) credits and majoring in Journalism in BCCC’s Department of Language & Literature. Intend to re-enroll at BCCC in a minimum of six (6) credits in the spring after the award is made in the fall.

This scholarship was established by the estate of Hillary A. Dylong.

Also:

  • A letter of recommendation on letterhead is required in order to apply for this scholarship

George F. Tyler, III Scholarship minimum $1,000.00

Open to BCCC students majoring in English or Liberal Arts

Applicants must meet the following requirements at the time of application: Enrolled in a minimum of six (6) credits in one of the following associate degree transfer programs: English or Liberal Arts

Completed at least 18 total credits in one of the two above mentioned programs. The 18 credits total may include required pre-college level courses such as COMP107. Minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.0. Intend to re-enroll at BCCC in a minimum of six (6) credits in the fall after the award is made in the spring.

Note:

  • Preference is given to students who are enrolled in a minimum of twelve (12) credits.

  • A letter of recommendation on letterhead is required in order to apply for this scholarship

Intelligencer-Courier Times Journalism Scholarship minimum $250.00

Open to BCCC students majoring in Journalism

Applicants must meet the following requirements at the time of application: Enrolled in a minimum of six (6) credits and majoring in Journalism in BCCC’s Department of Language & Literature. Intend to re-enroll at BCCC in a minimum of six (6) credits in the spring after the award is made in the fall.

This scholarship was established by Calkins Newspapers Incorporated.

Lloyd E. Penland Humanities Scholarship $275.00

Open to BCCC students majoring in Liberal Arts in the Department of Language & Literature

Awarded to a student who has completed 30 credits in BCCC's Department of Language & Literature's Liberal Arts Programs with a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.25.

Established by Professor Lloyd E. Penland. The award was renamed by his colleagues in his memory.

  • A letter of recommendation on letterhead is required in order to apply for this scholarship

Philip Tuniman Scholarship $500.00

Open to BCCC students majoring in Journalism

Applicants must meet the following requirements at the time of application: Enrolled in a minimum of six (6) credits and majoring in Journalism in BCCC’s Department of Language & Literature. Intend to re-enroll at BCCC in a minimum of six (6) credits in the spring after the award is made in the fall. Possess a minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.0. Demonstrate financial need as determined by BCCC's Financial Aid office. Hold some position at the Centurion, the College's student newspaper.

Note:

  • Since this scholarship requires financial need, you must have completed next academic year’s Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) with the results on file in BCCC’s Financial Aid office (unless otherwise specified in the scholarship’s description)
  • Preference is given to applicants who are members in BCCC's Phi Theta Kappa honor society.

Piazza Nuova Lodge #2665, Order Sons of Italy in America Endowment for Italian Language minimum $250.00

Open to BCCC students enrolled in one of the following Italian Language courses (ITAL110, ITAL111, ITAL201, ITAL202)

Applicants must meet the following requirements at the time of application: Enrolled in a minimum of six (6) credits and currently taking one of the following Italian Language courses (ITAL110, ITAL111, ITAL201, ITAL202) in BCCC's Department of Language & Literature. Possess a minimum cumulative grade point average of 2.5, and intend to re-enroll at BCCC in a minimum of six (6) credits in the fall semester after the award is made in the spring.
