Bio:
Cheryl Giacomelli attended community college on Long Island and went onto graduate from New York University. She received a master’s in developmental psychology from Teachers College, Columbia University, and is currently a clinical psychology doctoral candidate. As a community college graduate, Cheryl very much enjoys working with community college students. As she understands the incredible opportunity community college offers its students.
Currently, Cheryl is the Psychology Area Coordinator at Bucks County Community College. Cheryl has worked at Bucks since 2012 teaching numerous courses including, Psychology of Personal Awareness, Introduction to Psychology, Human Sexuality, Psychological Techniques of Stress Management, Human Growth and Development, Developmental Psychology-Lifespan, Social Psychology, Introductory Psychology Statistics, Experimental Psychology, and Psychology of Abnormal Behavior.
In addition to Cheryl’s academic experience, her clinical experience includes working in a university counseling center, working in an inpatient and residential treatment facility for children and adolescents, and working in private practice. Cheryl approaches therapy from an integrative perspective, and her areas of clinical interest include emerging adulthood, adjustment difficulties, anxiety, depression, and relationship concerns.
