Bio:
Joseph Kelly III holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice and a Master’s Degree in Education (Police Graduate Studies) from Seton Hall University. He has also completed the New Jersey State Chiefs of Police Command and Leadership Program.
Kelly is currently serving as Chief of Police in Yardley Borough PA. From 1992 until his retirement in 2015, Kelly served the N.J. Transit Police Department where he worked in various ranks and assignments retiring as a Deputy Chief of Police directing police operations. He has also served from 1985 until 1992 with the Maplewood (NJ) Police Department as a dispatcher and reserve police officer and is/was certified as a police officer in Pennsylvania, New Jersey and New York.
Kelly has instructed at various levels to include undergraduate and graduate college students. He testified in April 2010 before the U.S. Senate Committee of Science, Science and Transportation on securing the Nation’s rail and other surface transportation networks and was commended on the floor of the U.S. House of Representatives in July 2019 for his work in Yardley Borough.
