Bucks County Community College is seeking qualified individuals to join our team of talented instructors. Must be available during the day, Monday-Friday, 8:00-3:00 pm. These are contract positions with a flexible schedule. Instructors will be responsible for instructing participants, maintaining a positive classroom learning environment, working as part of a team, and be knowledgeable in a variety of topics including: basic computer skills, Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint. Must be able to judge participants’ mastery of material and create appropriate pace of learning conducive to all students in class.
Interested applicants should have an advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office software, should be able to instruct adults of diverse backgrounds and create daily/weekly learning plans and goals, and be able to troubleshoot user errors with patience.
Specific levels of competency for the programs should include:
Outlook: Email organization, working with Email - Account Settings, Sending Messages, Attachments, Signatures, working with the Calendar - Views, Scheduling and Editing Appointments, Reminders, Recurring Appointments, Sharing Calendars.
Word: Intro to Word, creating/saving documents, styles, footnotes, endnotes, executing mail merge, generating envelopes and labels, creating a table of contents and an index, tracking changes, creating and running macros, and converting documents to webpages.
Excel: Excel basics, navigating worksheets, simple and advanced formulas and functions, creating and modifying charts, sort and filter data, creating and modifying custom templates, PivotTables, PivotCharts, vLookup, and analytical features of Excel such as Goal seek and how to create scenarios.
PowerPoint: Introduction to PowerPoint, creating a new presentation, adding and formatting slides, inserting images and backgrounds, and adding transitions.
Primary Duties: Instruction and classroom management, maintain all student attendance, test score information, and paperwork associated with the course. Instruct, identify supplies/materials/equipment required for class and maintain equipment. Maintain consistent contact with coordinator or director on a daily/weekly basis regarding outcomes and any issues.
Course Structure – classes are conducted Monday – Thursday full day and half day Friday for 7 weeks.

Minimum Requirements Include:
- Associate’s degree and 1 year of experience or 5 years of experience and a high school degree.
- Excellent knowledge of MS Office Suite and computer skills; certification in MOS preferred.
- Previous experience with adult classroom instruction preferred.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Flexible, organized, and strong ability to manage classroom.
- Experience working with individuals with diverse backgrounds preferred.
- Must also have ability to mentor learners in soft skills such as teamwork, professional work behaviors, and professional communication.
